I’m a solo musician/instrumentalist also using backing tracks. I’ve been debating wether i would hear much improvement by using an interface like audient id44 etc for my tracks from laptop. I’ve just seen an old post on here discussing the built in interface, which says they noticed quite a loss in the low/low mid warmth area when recording. I understand this would add another conversion. Appreciate any advice.
    Thank you

How many tracks are your backing tracks?

If at all possible I would go direct from the lap top USB to the USB B connection on the back of the mixer.

Just a stereo track from laptop to the desk via USB. It’s just a case of whether the dac in an independent interface like audient or rme would yield better sound quality over the built in one.

And that’s why you want an extra A/D conversion?
    Direct digital transfer is better.
