Just upgraded to v1.5.1 and having some very bizarre behavior.
Pulled up a 96k multitrack recorded on this SQ-5, off my T5 500GB SSD, all is fine, until a few minutes…
Audio starts sounding like it’s stuttering, faders 1, 7, and 8 take on a mind of their own and start jumping up and down.
Audio goes back to normal, then resumes stuttering, this continues on even if the virtual sound check is stopped, faders still bounce around.
Restarted console 3 times, each time this behavior resumes.

That is indeed strange behaviour and I’ve never heard of anything like it before.
If you haven’t already, please contact us using support.allen-heath.com, if possible with a video and/or copy of the recording (I appreciate this could be large and a pain) along with all other details of the setup, so we can try to reproduce this and discover what’s going on.
Thanks,

Did you checked the 1.5.1 really installed into your mixer?
Check the firmware version on the Utilities/General/Diagnostic page!
My colleague installed it four times by the time he succeeded.Regards,

this looks like strange earth effects and gravitation issues
OK seriously… there is something wrong with the hardware
you should send it to the sales rep or distributor2020/09/10 at 10:52 pm #94791ianhindParticipantI feel like it’s software. Everything was fine (except the screen freezing) before I upgraded to v1.5.1
v1.5.1 caused this to happen literally 5 minutes after the update, and continues to sporadically happen. Sometimes within minutes, sometimes 20, but it always happens at some point.
2020/09/11 at 9:52 am #94804MarkPAmanParticipantHave you reinstalled the firmware?
2020/09/12 at 4:13 pm #94838ianhindParticipantI’ll try re-installing the firmware at some point today.
I’ll also do a backup then full factory reset to wipe out all settings, maybe there’s something tiny setting they missed moving to 1.5.1?
2020/10/15 at 2:14 am #95763ianhindParticipantJust an update as I’ve finally got around to this.
I did a factory reset (holding EQ and HF in during boot) and the problems still persisted.
Did a firmware update again (1.5.1 over 1.5.1) and it seems to have worked *knocking on wood, literally*
I’ll leave it on doing nothing for a few hours and make sure the ghosts have left.
If I don’t post back, assume this was the fix for anyone in the future with this strange issue.
2020/11/12 at 6:42 pm #96304ianhindParticipantUnfortunately the issue has reared its ugly head again.
Even after a full reinstall and factory wipe, the problems still persist.
99% sure this isn’t a hardware issue since console was totally fine until the day I installed v1.5.1
