I use a SQ6 (hired) and own a QU16. I mulitrack-record gigs i engineer on a regular basis. These recordings are published regularly so its important there are no mistakes. I prefer to use my Mac with logic (over the SQ drive) but it crashed at one gig.

Advantage of QU’s over SQ’s is the ability to record USB-B streaming AND SQ drive simultaneously. Such a shame SQ’s are either or.

As i hire the SQ6 i don’t have it infront of me now.
Can i tie line from the SQ with a CAT5 to the QU and record this on the QU?

This will be a game changer for me.

I could mix on a QU24, but i love the SQ.

    Many thanks.

The reason for this is quite unusual, but if I interpret everything correctly, it shouldn’t be a problem (see pictures).

On the SQ6 you use Tie Lines to pass all inputs on the console (that you need) out via the S-Link port.
Then on the QU you patch S-Link inputs to the channels instead of the analog inputs.

If you need to have a digital stagebox (like AB168, DX168 etc), you will need a S-Link card in the SQ and use Tie Lines to forward the ports on that to the QU just like the SQ inputs.
