    Hello to all,
    I’m new to this forum.
I just got the dynamic trio add ons and have them in the SQ6. I’m trying to figure out if I can easily insert a de-esser onto let’s say 8 lavs on a live discussion panel for instance. It seems like I need to use open FX slots to do this, so I’m guessing I’m limited by the number of FX slots available, is that correct, or am I misinterpreting this.
I’m used to working on the yamaha consoles where a compressor, eq and de-esser are all available on each channel. I understand that they are very different price points, and I love the SQ series, I’m just trying to navigate the best way to achieve a good result.
Thanks for all of your help in advance.
    Best regards,
    Evoclogic

    Hi @Evoclogic and welcome!

You are correct – there are two types of Add-on:
DEEP – can be used on any/every channel in place of existing channel processing
RackExtra FX – can be used in any/all of the 8 FX units

The FX units can be used as send/return, or inserted on any input or mix channel.
In this case then, you could use 8 de-essers and insert them on the individual input channels, or you could send all the lav input channels to a group and insert a single de-esser on the group.

    Thanks,
    Keith.

Add the de-esser to a group and send the mics that need de-essing to that group.

Maybe (hopefully) we get a channel based de-esser in a future firmware update.
