    Hello everyone,
I have a Qu-16 and, for live performance, I need the comnpressor side chain function for my BASS Synth.
I’m not very satisfied of internal ducking function (I can’t manage to do a classical “DANCE/EDM” side chain), so I’m looking for an external compressor with side chain function to use with Q-16 as insert.
The problem is that I don’t know how to setup/connect it to the Q-16 (I’m totally newbie of digital mixer world).
With an analog mixer I would connect the compressor of an insert.
How can I do this on the Qu-16?

    Thank you in advance.

You may have to use 2 inputs and a mix to accomplish this. For example use channel 1 for your synth, dont send that to LR or monitors, send it only to a dedicated mix. Then send that mix to your compresser, out of the compressor back to input 2.

There are definitely some threads on here about using external effects.

Or better yet, send the comp to line 1 or 2 and keep the 16 channels on the top layer…
