    What is the preferred method for connecting two SQ desks together, while sharing the same IO rack (GX48/16) ?

    That would be:

    Add an SLink-Card to the first SQ. Then connect the IO Rack to that first SQ to the “internal” SLink port. Then use a patch cable to connect the added SLink-Card of the first SQ to the “internal” SLink port of the second unit.

    Then use Tie-Lines to patch audio between the SQ’s.
