When are User Profiles & the associated restrictions/permissions for operator access coming?

I have a client that needs this feature. I’d rather put SQ in than QU, but if it isn’t ready in the next few months…

SQ Technical datasheet V1.2 has it stated on page 1 and page 3

    Reference:
“several users with different levels of system access and permissions”
    or
“User Permissions to restrict operator access”
    or
    “User Profiles that restrict access”
    or
    ‘similar’

    Hi Lightingman117,

User permissions is planned to be included in the next firmware feature release. This is aimed for late Q3 this year.

    Thanks!

This is something that should have been in the launch. Not a year later.

Any news on password locking the surface? Right now you can just walk up to the console and just press “Yes” on the would you like to unlock the surface screen.. which I think is a great help. haha

    Hi Leon96,

I am not the authority on this matter. But as far as I know. It could go two ways.

    1) Yes. If user profile has pw then lock/unlock requires said pw (like dLive)
    2) No. User profiles control console security

(profiles coming to SQ sometime late this year, we hope).

    Hi lightingman117

Just interested in reasoning behind this not having this available from day one. Has the console dose give you an option to lock the surface when being away from it for a period of time but its as easy as one click ‘Yes’ to unlock again so doesn’t really make much sense to give this option.

Can you please add the ability to simply ask for admin password if you don’t have permission. so I don’t have to change users to change a setting but simply enter the admin password. This would make my life so much better as a administrator.

@GreenArrow, having the console give the admin password completely defeats the purpose of having passwords in the first place.
