i would like to be able to use serial compression for some of our singers. Maybe a FET as a dynamic compressor to get the really loud bits and a Opto as a tonal compressor to even out the overall vocal.

I know I can route though a mix bus and use additional compression there but not all of the singers really need both. Besides, I’m a control freak and want the flexibility to do it my way.

Just a thought – any rumors on what is coming in the next firmware drop?

+1, would love to be able to stack compressors in this way. We do it for broadcast in ProTools, and would love to do it in FOH without having to wait until we can afford Waves integration

I highly recommend the use of Dyn8 it is a real problem solver in FOH situations especially on vocals. No Waves plugin comes close… tight integration in the desk and very low latency processing!
