    Hi,

While it is possible I missed something in the instructions I am seeing issues when storing scenes and shows to USB.

    1. I did a gig a few weeks ago, saved everything (multiple times) as a scene. Went to load it back up today from the show and the scene is gone. After some experimenting (and looking at the USB on my laptop) I think if I change and save a scene under a show, I also need to save the show otherwise it won’t “attach” itself to that show and that scene will be forever gone when I recall the show at a later date. Is this the expected behaviour?

    2. Sometimes a show does not appear in the list under Home > Data > USB Shows???? I assume all the saved shows should be there? Again, I can see all the shows on my laptop so they are there. I just don’t see them on the unit so I can’t select them.

Am I using this thing incorrectly? I would assume something this basic should just work fine. Help.

    1. Yes – the CQ has one Show loaded at a time and this contains up to 100 Scenes, so you need to store the Scene (to the unit) and then store the Show (to a drive) in order to have a backup that you can recall later. This is explained in more detail in the user guide here – https://www.allen-heath.com/content/uploads/2023/09/CQ_User_Guide_V1_2_0_iss3.pdf#page=28&zoom=auto,-307,574

    2. If you’re not seeing the Shows on the connected drive, it would suggest the drive has not been seen correctly, or perhaps that the mechanism to see the drive is already in use. If you’re still experiencing this with no recording or playback running and have tried removing and reconnecting the drive, please contact us through support.allen-heath.com with details of the drive, whether it was formatted in the CQ and whether it’s used for anything else.

    Thanks,
    Keith.

Thanks for the response and confirmation for item #1. I am running some additional experiments and starting to suspect I have a faulty USB drive. I copied the contents to a new drive yesterday and have been doing power cycles since and this USB stick seems to be working so far. If I end up seeing the same issue with a 2nd USB stick I will reach out to support.

    Thanks
