Updating firmware

I’m having trouble updating to 1.21 and I have a clean usb and the console still shows as no firmware detected, please advise

Have you read and followed the firmware update instructions from Allen and Heath? Details like where to extract the firmware file matter….. https://www.allen-heath.com/media/Avantis-firmware-update-instructions-IssB.pdf

If you are doing that, then there is likely some compatibility issue with the particular USB drive you are attempting to use. This isn’t all that uncommon. Easiest thing to do it to try another USB stick.
