Got an interesting experience recently. My client was recording an audio book, one mic, one channel. SQ to Audition. Finished about 30 chapters. After reading a lot about USB cables quality I decided to upgrade to something better from cheap 2m cable I’ve been using so far. AudioQuest Greed Forest 1,5M ($45) and something even more expensive ($70) and even more short for DH Labs. Connected, tried – looks good. Wrong. Too bad I haven’t tested in full, my client did – 5 new chapters came out with random distortion, say, about every 3- 4 minutes. 2 hours of work wasted. Reproduced myself. Put back old crappy cable (with ferrits thou ) – problem gone!
Impressive, isn’t it?
