Howdy from Texas. Have any of you guys that use a top/bottom snare mic setup run those mics into a “stereo” SQ input and “panned” their stereo spread to center and flipped the phase on the bottom mic ALL WITH THE TOOLS provided by the SQ stereo input module??

And then processed them as one “mono”
(but actually center panned stereo) channel from thence onward? I realize you can’t eq the top and bottom mic separately… but it seems this method could be rather nice for live use..?

    Comments??

stereo channels are intended for the same processing on both sides

    Why not a DCA instead?

    Hi Scott,
Yeah, I currently use the traditional two inputs and a DCA. Works great!

However I was thinking that by using a stereo input I could reclaim that DCA for something else… and have the ability to put insert fx as well as /eq/compression etc on the combined top and bottom snare signal without also using a dedicated snare subgroup… which is what I do now.

Once I got the SQ I kinda went subgroup-crazy. I love this console!
