was looking with support for a streamlined way to switch between an external and internal master chain for comparing reasons.
We couldn’t find a way without introducing several layers of additional bus/matrix routing that even added additional latency, that had to be taken care of. Not streamlined at all…So my vote goes for either:
– add a insert library (was hoping for that with fw2 and expanded channel library, but unfortunately this didn’t happen) and add recalling them to actionsor:
– move inputpatchpay/outputpatchbay/insertpatchbay out of “others” into the individual channels/mixes/busses/matrices. This would help in other situations like backup scenarios as well.thanks for listening

You can easily set a scene to turn on/off inserts on a channel and recall filter everything else except this change. Of course you can also change other parameters if needed as well and adjust the recall filter accordingly. Using this technique, it is pretty easy to create an “inserts on” scene and a “inserts off” scene and load them when appropriate.

I have checked this thoroughly with support.I want to swap a internal L/R insert FX slot processing + comp with a external analog insert processing connected to sockets.
But this is not trivial at all when L/R is feeding several matrices (stereo and mono) for PA and you work with a preset show/start scene but outputs on site might change to what is stored in that scene. Not to talk about guest channels including inserts, that might come in addition on site. But thanks for your suggestion.

what would help for my specific task as well, would be real bus to bus mixing (including mono matrices into stereo matrices)(why is editing posts in this forum still such a pita)

Now that I understand your needs further, I can see where this limitation would make the task you are trying to accomplish harder than it needs to be. You can easily turn on/off inserts (as my first post suggested), but trying to replace those inserts with specific FX racks set to specific values seems to be a daunting task within the A&H ecosystem.
