… I need (and telling it since the dLive hit the market):
– I/O patch page for inserts. It’s still pain in the a** patching many inserts.
– also I/O patch: autoroute or at least a “patch range” thing (f.e. I use DM0 with GX4816 or DX168 on my fly-rig, so I then get all my inputs from a gigaACE/superMADI card or the DX-Ports)
– bus to talback groups: rather than using a socket as source using a bus is way more useful, as in standard InEar I have talkback from FOH, from Monitor and some extras from the band. In this case (which is 100% of my shows) the whole talkback feature is useless (make it same as it is no in V2 with Ext. Ip Talk to PAFL in Surface>Audio).
Yes, I can do a loopback (sending to physical output and using xld to physical input), but this is not really it.
– still missing a DeEsser (no, not the ohne in FX-Unit – as it was on iLive, just switching the gate to de-esser).
IP8 also could use an upgrade – if not working as “full” fader (meaning following Sends-on-Fader etc.), at least give us comnbined “Sel+PAFL” on the buttons or a “Shift” functions (maybe triggered with the only round button on the IP8).
+100 on the insert stuff!
also never been impressed by the FX deesser
I’ve never even used the actual de-esser… a Dyn8 gets me close enough to what want that I haven’t felt the need to burn an FX slot. I should probably try it one of these days.
Anyway, +1 from me, especially the IP8 stuff.
I use the DYN8 not specifically as a de-esser but I am not needing a de-esser the way I use the DYN8. Easilly better using one band for de-essing on the DYN8 though.
Yes, a more featured IP8 would be nice. I really onlu currently use it as a single bank of DCA. At least the DCA spill works from the IP8.
… soft mute functionality!
Still missing:
– group to group
– independent Direct Out pick points
– softkey library
– NEQ on PALF bus outputs (wedge and IEM)…also allow Wedge control to be converted to a stereo Nearfield control
– insert patchbay
– improved accurate clock
– optional compact meter bridge for lower region
– include name/color in channel library
– high contrast screen mode
– ability to select which bus you want to eliminate in the bus configure window (vs removing them sequentially)
– Insert channel/bus (bump range of channels/busses down)
@dcongdon name/color is included in channel library since fw2, no?
Good catch and thanks for the correction. Missed that one.
