I inherited a SQ7 and I am puzzled by something. For some of the Mixes (2,5 & 6) the L&R faders control
Mix 2,5, & 6 fader volume – but not the master – IOWs if I am on L&R and have Fader 1 all the way down
    – then no signal is sent to 2,5,7 6 – whose faders are at unity – then when I bring the Channel 1 Fader
up – so goes Mix 2,5 ,& 6 – but only to the level I raise the L&R Channel 1 fader.

It’s not a DCA – and they are not set to the Matrix’s – I can’t figure out how this is done – any ideas?

    Your description is very confused!

    What are the L&R faders?
Maybe the Mixes are set to pre fader or post fader?

How do you set the Mixes to PreFader/PostFader?

    I found out what is happening;

But I don’t want to use the SQ App – I want to do it on the board – does anyone know how to do that?
Sorry but I’m a rookie on the SQ series.

I dont want to be rude, but that is very Basic stuff described in the Manual. Please have a Look and come Back, If that is unclear.

Also there is a really good series of official Tutorials in the YouTube Channel of a&h, maybe watch them too? Maybe Keith also explains IT there…

    Best Regards,

It is basic stuff – but if you don’t know how to describe it – at least for me – it is impossible to fine.
But I figured it out – and the Manual Page it is on.

    Method 1 – Page 27

    Select Mix 1
Hold Down the ‘Pre Fade’ key
The ‘Select Key’ on each channel shows green if the mix is pre fade – press each select key and the
    green goes out.
Set each channel fader to db
    Repeat for other mixes

    Method 2 – Page 28

    Select Mix 1
Select the Master Fader for Mix 1
    Press Routing
    Select ‘Mix Sends form Screen
You now have a ‘Pre’ or ‘Post button on screen for all channels on each mix Use this to select ‘Post’
    Repeat for other mixes.

I could do without the judgement – some of us our new to the mixers.

Yeah… My Feeling is,that the Forum should be used after the Manual and the Tutorial Videos — Not instead. That should be a Natural way even for new Users and has nothing to with judgement.

    Tobias

If you don’t know what it’s called or the Technique involved – how do you look it up?
