I am new to mixing and the SQ5 and I can use some help.

    Setup:

Two microphones plugged into A&H AB168 which connects to the SQ5.
The two mics are not assigned to the LR or any other mix.
The two mics are the only inputs to a single mono group.

    Desired Operation:
I want to be able to use the fader to remove all sound from the group across the LR and all mixes without having to mute the group.

    Problem:
When I slide the fader for the group all the way down I still hear low input from the microphones. Why? I would have expected the volume to be 0.

I would appreciate any help in solving this issue.

I should add that the group is set to Post for LR and all mixes.

    Hi Gil,
And when you Mute the group, the volume of the mic’s is 0 ?

Or when you mute the Input channels – the the volume is 0 ?

    greetings,

If I mute the group LR is muted. If I take the fader all the way down, LR has no volume. Muting does not fully mute the other mixes. Taking the fader all the way down does not fully cut the volume on the mixes.

Problem solved. I had left the reverb effect on both mic channels instead of the group. Once I removed the reverb from the individual channels and put it on the group all worked as expected.
