I’m currently running an SQ5 and a Dante card into my older PC running Reaper and Waves Live Tune. For each mic channel, I’m routing the unprocessed channel to the IEMs and the tuned back in as a separate channel that goes to a stream mix and the house. This is if the PC crashes I still have something to turn back to. My current latency round trip is about 22ms. It’s noticeable by me but is lost in the house. I’m processing 2 to 3 channels at most.
I had to set the Dante Virtual Sound Card settings at 10 ms and Reaper block size set to 128. I had to move to these settings to avoid the popping. My PC is roughly 8 years old with a dual core i7 at 2.9 ghz, SSD, and 16 gb of ram. Is there anything I can to improve the latency or am I stuck with this performance?
