    Is it possible to have a48/16 ,two sq tie lined together ,using all 48 ins and all 16 outs and talkback from each desk to foh and mons to enable back and forth communication,plus st1 and st 2 on foh desk on faders.

    St1 and St2 are counting as Channels, so No. 48-4!

    You can use the talkback as a 49th channel.

    Ive done this for tracks and sound effects

    You can use the talkback as a 49th channel.

    That is not true. A channel has EQ, gate, compression.
    You can use the talkback input as an additional microphone input within the 48 channels.
