In SQ-5 Reference manual 1.5.0 issue 6, page 107 “Reset Mix Settings – Standard”, first table:
The documented setting for “Remote Audio Unit Outputs” is documented as “Unassigned”.
This is misleading since in fact execution of “Reset Mix Settings – Standard” causes all local inputs to be routed 1:1 to IOport outputs via Tie-Lines
with the default gain of 28db being applied to each input. Note this was observed with an Slink-Card installed as the IOport.
This creates a “hazardous” situation which is not apparent when reading the manual. If any one of the Local input sockets happens to have a Line-level signal at the time of the “Reset Mix Settings”, then that signal is immediately copied with a +28db gain to the any audio device on the corresponding IOport output.
I would suggest that the 1:1 tie-lines not be created during the “Reset Mix Settings” action. Otherwise the description of manual page 107 should document this condition with a strong warning.
