Is there a way to change the default SQ5 headphone behavior to follow the selected Output bus (LR, Aux8)?

    ???
You have to explain what you mean…
Headphones get their signal from the monitoring system inside.
And they don’t follow the bus selection by default.

Headphones are always fed by the PAFL bus, with many options in the ‘Setup > Audio > PAFL’ screen.

For what I think you want here, ensure ‘PAFL Follow Mix’ is ‘On’ and then press the PAFL key on the master channel strip.
If you then select different mixes, you’ll notice that the PAFL follows the selection.

    Thanks,
    Keith.

Thanks Keith, this is the simple solution I was looking for. One question: will enabling PAFL on the master channel strip effect output to other sources (LR, Aux?)

PAFL is for listening/checking audio, so pressing the PAFL key on any channel (input channel/mixes/FX) will only affect what is being sent to the PAFL bus.
The PAFL bus is sent to headphones, can be patched to an output directly and also feeds the ‘listen’ bus (which is like PAFL but with level control and mono/stereo outputs for use with IEM’s or a wedge).

So no, pressing the PAFL key on the master channel strip will not change the mix outputs in any way.

    Cheers!
    Keith.
