The QU-24 uses a 2 Amp buss fuse for the mains.
I was unplugging the mixer in my shop as I packed for a weekend show and it dawned on me that I may not have any spare fuses that size in my toolbox. (I do carry fuses, but have not updated my stockpile since I got the new mixer.) It is hard to believe that the success of an entire music concert rides on a tiny single strand of wire about the size of a human hair.
I know that a blown fuse generally means that a short has occurred, but not always. Sometimes it can be caused by a local power surge, someone hooking something up wrong, or the fatigue of constant on-off cycles. In any event, I wouldn’t want to be left dead in the water without a spare. It’s off to the hardware store in the morning.
I just wanted to serve a reminder to other weekend warriors. Stock up on spares now! That is all.
