i’d like to use the signal generator to create a low sine, patch it to a channel and control its gate by the bass drum signal via side chain. this would be an easy way to add some extra punch to the bass drum sound.

    wow!?
That’s a very old fashioned way of adding punch to a kick drum.
From memory they used to use an external generator to do that?
You could easily take out some drivers with that method 🙂

This is a feature we actually use in larger venues with an iLive desk, which has side-chain support for the gates. Since the Qu-Pac ducker is already capable of side-chaining it should be easily possible to implement this for gates/compressors as well.
