I finally pulled the trigger and got the CQ-18T and I’m in the middle of setting it up for use in my home studio and live with a band, and I have a couple questions:

    1) I have the delay/echo setup on fx3 and I want to use button 3 to mute the input of the effect. do I need to set the effect in a mute group? I’m presuming that the default button choice of mute will kill the effect entirely and cut off the tail. I’m using fx3 as a long delay throw.

    2) is there a way to side chain a compressor on 2 guitar channels being fed by the lead vocal channel? i do this on my SQ6 by putting the guitars into a submix with a compressor.

I don’t have a CQ, but in the manual I find that I can assign to a softkey “Mute … for specific channels” and I would assume that it works the same with a single FX.
Perhaps you could test it on your CQ.

In the manual I see that I can choose a Mute Mode for FX:
“Set “Trails On” to hear any reverb or delay trail fade out naturally when muting an FX unit. Set Trails Off to have the FX mute instantly”

The manual contains a block diagram and there is no side chain for compressors – so I’m afraid it won’t be possible.

Not with current firmware. You can support any post in the suggestion section, or make a new wish. I wish we had both channel sidechain compressor AND submix group.
