    Hi all,
After a recent mistake costing every setting, I want to make sure I am saving my scenes correctly. To save a scene, I need to store the show?
    Thank you,
    Christina

Your show file includes all of that show’s scene files too. If you make any changes, including changes to scene files, but then load another show file without first saving the current show, when you reload the original show it will load whatever was saved last. If you didn’t save the changes to your show file, any changes to your scenes, etc will not be loaded because they weren’t saved to the show file prior to changing to another show.

Hopefully that makes sense. If you only work on one show file, it really doesn’t matter how often you save your show file. But if you move from one show file to another, you should always save your current show file before loading another show file to ensure that when you load the original show in the future, it’s exactly how you left off.

Well, if you store a scene, it should stay there until it gets overwritten or deleted, even if the mixer gets powered off. Most of the time even during a firmware update.

But, just saving scenes is a little dangerous, because it is really easy to just load another show (like the ones that are built into the firmware) and poof! everything gets overwritten. So yes, you should save a show, at least every so often as a backup, even if you always use the mixer the same way and would not otherwise need to do so.

And, I would suggest that you save a copy every now and then to an external USB drive. That way even if hardware fails and you can’t use its internal storage, then you can load from the USB drive to a new/borrowed/rented dLive mixer and still have your whole setup.
