I have recently purchased a QU-16 to replace a Korg D888 multitrack recorder. I was very impressed with the processing depth of the QU-16 but was comensurately unimpressed with the limits on Qu-drive multi-track recording. I am a multi-instrumentalist. So, I must record guitar tracks, bass lines, drums, and vocals serially. You cannot record new instruments on a new track while playing back recorded tracks on different tracks. In order to use the QU-16 to replicate the functionality of the D888 would have been to allow the selection of recording tracks on the QU-drive (multi-track recording screen) while playing back previously recorded tracks. This seems like a small amount of programming to rectify. I know this can be done by DAW. But it would have been so much neater to do this on this fine machine.
