I know it’s possible to use the CQ-18t to record a live band to an SD card or to a DAW on a PC or Mac. But before a buy a CG-18t, I’d just to get reassurance that I could do the same to GarageBand on an iPad. Anyone do this? Any experiences – e.g. can my iPad (a 9th generation with 256GB storage) successfully record all the tracks from the CQ-18t? Many thanks.

If you are asking if the CQ-18t USB is class compliant, the answer is yes. If you are asking if we can guarantee that means Apple will work with every class compliant device out there, you are asking on the wrong forum. You should ask around some Apple forums for this information.

Hi , i easily record directly from a cq18 to my ipad using cubasis . Havent tried Garage band directly but have created single track mix downs & imported to garage band as my imac only has garage band uploaded . Hope this helps .

Thanks. A couple of follow-up questions, please, if I may (I’m not sure if the answers to these would or wouldn’t be implicit in the CQ-18t’s USB implementation being class compliant…):

    1. If I record to the iPad from the CQ-18t via USB, will the CQ-18t simultaneously charge the iPad’s battery?
    2. Could I simultaneously run CQ-MixPad (and/or the equivalent non-A&H control app – sorry, I forget its name) over USB while connected to the iPad by USB and while simultaneously recording via USB to the iPad?

Hi , the CQ doesnt charge my ipad battery while connected by usb . Not sure about using the cq mix app while recording to GarageBand on your ipad , you would have to keep changing screens from one to the other so seems a more difficult path to go down ?
