Cool idea topdj, must look into that!
I have some graphic eq t-shirts I got printed for a job a few years back.
How you planning to power it, just by a pack tucked under the desk?

yes it has a power pack or it runs a batter even a 9 volt will lite the issue I have it hiding the 2 wires.

I currently printed on this stuff,https://www.officedepot.com/a/products/572927/DYMO-LT-19435-Magnetic-Black-On/
but they make clear label with black letter I can stick on the illuminated tape. so I will have 3 layers the mag material the illuminated material and the clear lettering. I will get a picture of the results by next week. I bought blue because it goes with the Qu-24tape

    That’s a really nice idea.

I wonder if whiteboard marker would work on that stuff

It’s the wiping off that’s really important, but if properly sealed then it makes an excellent mag strip to accompany the desk.

What’s the lamp output voltage? Enough to drive the EL tape?

The lamp sockets probably provide enough power, but you still need an inverter for any EL light, since this runs on voltages above 100V (maybe AC as well)…
    …so: Don’t try this on an analog desk… 😉

    Hello!

Does anyone has those scrible strips sizes for QU-16? Is that magnetic paper strong enough to hold on, so pieces can be that small?

I use mag paper on a couple of mixers, it’s perfectly strong enough.

Does anyone have the original AI file? The copy.com file hosting site shut down and I am looking to make labels for my new QU32. If the template is still to big to upload here feel free to put them directly in my dropbox: https://www.dropbox.com/request/gFJO0AcVMFHlzVTPBCZu
