    Hi there

New to the forum, long time iLive/GLD user. Now also operating a QU16.
I’ve just got the QU16 for an upcoming tour. While setting it up, I noticed my MPB fans revving up. I found out that when I plug the QU16 into the mac via USB, this triggers a big cpu usage increase in a process called “midi server”. This process takes 40% (!) of my cpu. If I unplug the USB, everything goes back to normal. Everything else midi (Logic Pro etc) works just fine, it’s just really annoying that my cpu fans are running at high speed, and that it limits my processing power. Any ideas out there?

    Best regards

    hi!

same problem for me, on 2 different imacs (one old, one new) ox 10.9.5, QU16 firmware 1.5 too.

I think that this problem only occurs when Logic is on, or any other midi software (like the little app “A&H DAW”, but the problem was there before I installed “A&H Daw”)

Maybe try to go back to QU16 1.4 ? 🙁

Please tell me if you got news…

I can confirm we have reproduced the issue here, and are working on a fix.

CPU usage dropped significantly with V1.6 on my old Dell laptop, so something indeed changed.
