so the block diagram in the manual is wrong
no it’s not wrong
we were talking about USB to a PC not generic in/ out
and I know what we are talking about and it’s still the right information… don’t understand what you mean…
Qu-16 and QU-24 can send all inputs direct outs to the PC/MAC, 16/24 mono and 3 stereo sources and the main bus…
the PC can send back all recorded signals except L/R
simple as that2021/05/31 at 3:31 pm #101643well my block diagram has a 24 on the output to usb B
does the text contradict that factoid?
do I have an out of date manual ?We are not talking about how many can be chosen from to fit in the 24 available to be sent but how many can be sent on usbB
2021/05/31 at 4:53 pm #10164424 desk outputs to USB are 24 inputs on the PC
22 outputs on the PC are 22 inputs on the desk2021/05/31 at 5:17 pm #101646exactly !!!!!!
that is what I said
you can only send 24 usb channels to the PC
2021/05/31 at 5:29 pm #101647this is only valid for the QU-16, all other mixers send 32
USB-B on PC
Qu-16 > 24 inputs 22 outputs
Qu-24 > 32 inputs 30 outputs
Qu-32, Qu-PAC, QU-SB share the same core > 32 input 32 output
SQ Series > 32 input 32 output2021/05/31 at 6:39 pm #101650you are contradicting yourself
the diagram shows you send 24 channels
you agreed you can only send 24 channels
that verified my statement and the diagramwe are not talking total in and out
the OPer wanted to send to his PC
and the Qu32 only sends 24 channels
as you and the block diagram both agreed toso confounding the discussion with total channels
when we are discussing SEND via USB nr. of channels is not helpful2021/05/31 at 9:24 pm #101651
AnonymousThe QU sends 32 out USB/B and receives 32 IN USB/B
Its a fixed format
32/322021/06/01 at 8:56 am #101660@volounteer – Please let us know if and where the documentation is incorrect so it can be put right. Note that the block diagram on pg88 is for the Qu-16, while the block diagram for the Qu-24/Qu-32 is shown on pg89.
@Driller – Both the Qu and SQ series are class compliant and confirmed working/supported on macOS 11 (Big Sur) along with M1 hardware.
Cheers!
Keith.2021/06/01 at 9:05 am #101661and the Qu32 only sends 24 channels
as you and the block diagram both agreed tosorry, but this makes me think you are trying to upset me
neither me nor the block diagram for the QU-32 show other than 32 send and 32 receives
all the timeif you take my statements out of context it’s easy to mix up some things…
since some statements are just answers to your wrong assumptions
and refer to the Qu-16 or the Qu-242021/06/01 at 9:11 am #101662so confounding the discussion with total channels
when we are discussing SEND via USB nr. of channels is not helpfulUSB-B
Qu-16 > 24 inputs 22 outputs
Qu-24 > 32 inputs 30 outputs
Qu-32, Qu-PAC, QU-SB share the same core > 32 input 32 output
SQ Series > 32 input 32 outputthe PC sees 24 inputs from the Qu16, 32 inputs from the others
and sends 22 outputs to the Qu-16, 30 outputs to the Qu-24 and 32 Outputs to all other QU models2021/06/01 at 3:44 pm #101671@KeithJ A&H
That could be the mixup.
I downloaded the manual and searched for block diagram.
Thought it said it was for the 24/32 not 16 when I tried to read it sideways on the screen.
Maybe I got the other one when I adjusted the size and scrolled to see the usb output.2021/06/01 at 4:00 pm #101673Thanks for confirming that Keith, that’s reassuring to know. I appreciate it’s difficult to update a website too often but it would be nice if this info was made clearly available in the product data on the website. If it is and I’ve missed it, my apologies!
2021/06/01 at 5:02 pm #101676Ps Forgot to say: for info, searching for “QU/SQ USB Big Sur” comes up with nothing on Google so it’s good this info is now in the public domain.
2022/01/13 at 9:59 pm #105365An update: I got a QU 24 in the end as the SQ6, lovely though it is, would have been overkill for a one band desk.
I can confirm that the QU24 streaming is absolutely bullet proof and works perfectly with a brand new Macbok pro 16″ running the latest macOS (Monterey). I should have known really and am slightly ashamed that I ever doubted an A&H product.
I can also confirm that, as Steffen said, the QU24 will stream 32 inputs and 30 outputs.
All in all the QU24 is a fantastic bit of kit that I’m extremely happy with and was a great step up from the WZ4, albeit a great console in it’s own right. Thank you A&H!
