    I’m using a Qu-32.
    So I thought that I carefully selected a USB device from the list of compatible devices, but – errhh – maybe not.
    I purchased a SanDisk Extreme Go 128gb (advertised as ‘up to 200mb/sec write speed).
    But when I plugged it in, the device will not format. It stays stuck on a blinking “Formatting” message, only there is no progress.
    And then I noticed…THIS DEVICE IS USB 3.1
    Is that the source of the problem? Feedback appreciated. I am a complete novice.

    Yes, that’s most likely the problem. I believe when the qu was first designed, usb2 was the standard and spinning disks were to be used for the multitrack recording.
