1. Explaining audio routing to anyone who is not technically savvy, or able to think virtually on a digital mixer – is hell. This is about the most difficult aspect of using a digital mixer, it requires cerebrally capable people, who can visualise things that are NOT displayed, cos the physical interface is a virtual one, switching between layers. I have found it so hard to explain the routing to others.
I had to resort to pen and a sheet of paper to attempt to share the knowledge on the routing, but it was impossible, I would need a very large sheet, to do it justice.
2. It needs people who can read a manual, and grasp complex ideas. Most people as I have discovered – sorry are unable to. No one else in my church, has read the QU 16 reference guide, even after I made the effort to point them to the pdf version. I am the only person in this church who has read the manual. So it is such a huge burden attempting to break down the knowledge to others.
But this is not the fault of me or anyone else. Digital mixers pack a lot of functionality into a small set of user interface elements.
3. How wonderful it would be to get a dynamic EQ on each channel.
