    The audio of the mike direct into the qu16 is clipping.

    I would advice to get the earthworks attenuator.

    I had also the qu16, the internal pre amps i had the same problem, with some condensor micro’s i had also the problem that the signal is was to hot, with the stagebox ar2412 ore ab168 you have max 32dbu signal and the qu16 has max 19dbu, the zed has max 23dbu.

    @Showtime

    Did you say the mike is clipping or the clipping was in the Qu?

    I would agree that it seems like the mike is clipping from the evidence.
    But your post could be read like the Qu is clipping. English is a tough language:)

    The mike is ok, i think the input of the qu is clipping, i had an qu16, i always used it with an remote stagebox.

    qu is known not to handle very hot input’s, most proffesional users usses the qu alsways with a stagebox to handle the signals.

    If a read the specs of the mic correct the mic has a very high output, this is common for condensor micro’s, but to many for the local input of the qu.
