    Hi,

I need to get my gear (including QU16) PAT checked.

I am just a bit concerned as to whether the test equipment may cause damage when carrying out insulation tests (high voltages etc).

    Anyone experience of this?

    Thanks,
    Dave

No experience, but reading through the PAT tests I don’t see a real risk, if your equipment is properly designed. Conditions for required EMC and ESD testing seem to be much more demanding.

If the kit fails then it should be a warranty return.

Well designed hardware has no problem..

PAT testing is often required on gigs and installs to fulfill risk assessment/insurance requirements of the client. Brand new and used gear all subject to it in certain locations here in the UK. The test procedures shouldn’t damage your equipment.

My tester has a “Computer” setting, & I use that for most digital audio stuff.
