I just purchased and started putting the 18t through it’s paces. It’s wonderful. Sounds great is amazingly flexible. I’ll primarily be using it to track 2 to 5-person interview shows, talking heads, and voice overs for video production.
Our editors are used to working with poly wav files from other devices we have, like the Sound Devices Mix Pre 3 and 6. It’s a very convenient way to hand off recordings to them, as they don’t need to do any sample-accurate syncing in post to avoid delays or phase issues.
An option to multitrack record as a poly wav, where only armed tracks are included in the file would be amazing for someone in my line of work.
