I had some USB playback issues, the songs were glitching during playback.
After much Swapping about and testing, I found it was due to having the external SSD for song storage on the same Thunderbolt hub as the USB to the CQ20b, plugging the CQ20b USB directly into a port on the laptop stopped this.
I bought a USBC to USBB MIDI lead to do this.
Just in case anyone else has a similar issue.
@DJAA. I have both macbook and mac with logic pro, used focusrite interface and octopre for live recrding 16 tracks. I have internal SSD and a plug in external thunderbolt standard drive. After a few test runs, I will only use an internal drive for mult channel recording as it kicks out after a short while on the portable disc drive as its not fast enough. At least now I can recrd the band live with the CQ20B. I then transfer the MT tracks to logic drag n drop to carry out full mixing. This may be your problem even with a portable SSD.
you’ve found a solution that works for your multichannel recording needs, opting for the reliability of an internal SSD over a portable drive. Ensuring sufficient drive speed is crucial for uninterrupted recording sessions, especially when working with high track counts. Thanks for sharing your experience!
Most of the opinions I have read on these threads pursuant to CQ internal multi-track recording have overwhelmingly preferred the SD card over any USB protocol?
