Another question from a newbie. Is there a way to disable phantom power totally on the Qu 32? Our current system will have the Qu 32 running in to an Aviom digital snake system to the stage about 100 feet away. Phantom power inserted from the current board, an AH GL2400-32 causes some unusual sound effects in the mains and monitors. Phantom power is available on the stage so no need from the board.

Hopefully some day soon we can replace the Aviom with the AH digital snake.

    Thanks, Phil

    It’s off by default.

I understand that it is off by default, I was looking for a possible way to disable it completely.

    Thanks for the reply, Phil

It’s also pretty hard to set accidentally – you have to hold the on-screen “button” down for a few seconds.

True, but we will have some people using the board with minimal qualifications. I guess building a custom layer is the safest way to keep the finger poking to a minimum.

    Thanks for your reply, Phil

Setting up a custom layer in it self would not prevent anyone from
getting to the phantom power switch.
Yo would need to set up a basic or standard password protected user
    group.

Do any of the users need to adjust channel the gains.

Yes, the standard users will be members of the A/V team and will be able to do just about everything. I am thinking after today’s hands on session that they may need Advanced access.
