I’m not entirely sure how often the balance on stereo channels isn’t equal for everyone else, but I don’t think I’ve ever not had it centered in my entire career. Presumably someone likes it though since that’s how it works.

What would be great is, in addition to the “Balance” control, stereo channels also had a “Center” or “Average Pan” (or just “Pan”) control. Like, if you pan a stereo channel half left, its left side would be panned all left and it’s right side would be panned center (and the width automatically lowered to account for the lower maximum separation).

I know that stereo inputs have a width control in the preamp tab, but stereo outputs and groups don’t seem to have that control.

There’s not really a way to fake this with gangs or groups, either. At least not one that I can think of.
