    Hi all,

I’m mixing another musical on a C3500. I have a main LR pair on either side of the stage, and three front fills set up left to right in between them.

Ideally I’d like to send all of our vox channels to one downmix, all of our band channels to another downmix, and route both of those onto a main LR mix with Qlab and everything else, which can be sent out via mono matrices to each of the speakers through their own individual outputs.

The issue I’m having is with preserving LR pan across the individual matrices. I’d like to be able to pan a Qlab effect, for example, or a vocal mic, and have this requested across the fix speakers from L to R.
Is there a way to do this with mono matrices, or do I need to set it up with some weird combination of stereo matrices and LCR channels… (to include the center FF)?

Let me know any insight or if there’s a deeper issue I’m mixing. This is only my second musical on this board and I’m still grocking the full extent of its flexibility.

    Thanks in advance.

If you need to pan QLab across the frontfills, then you would need LCR, but that doesn’t really sound like a thing that makes sense.
I would use the MainLR as my band bus. (because that would allow me to have seperate busses for instrument groups) Then I would create a vocal bus…for vocals, and a QLab bus for…QLab etc.
Now you can combine any of those into matrices. I am not sure why you want mono matrices for LR…and still want to pan into them instead of just panning busses in the matrix. But if there is some weird reason, then use ganging for your QLab stereo output, but disable ‘routing’ in that gang. Then create two mono groups (QLab L and QLab R) and send the left and right channels to the respective groups. You can now assign those groups to the mono matrices. Now you can pan you QLab input into mono matrices.
As you can probably tell, I have no idea why you would want to do that instead of just sending groups and Main(band) to a stereo and a mono matrix.
