So I have a tendency to wander in attention, and occasionally it lands me looking at a performer who started without me knowing and not audible. I know the correct answer is “Pay attention then!” but I think it would be useful to have a short fade optional for the mute. Not a long one, just like half a second or less, similar to the values on the gate. Just so it doesn’t sound like an electroacoustic train hits you in the eardrums when you unmute drums in full capacity.

Uh, pull the faders before you hit the mute?

I could not pull and reset them as fast as a ramp would. Then I lose my volume levels, and good luck if there’s a number of channels to be unmuted. Honestly I can’t think of a time when I wouldn’t want a slight ramp, especially when there’s lots of ambient noise involved (guitar amps).
