ME-500 Stereo setup

Can someone explain a bit more of the functionality of the ME-500/Avantis console and stereo channel setup? I understand that you can link odd/even channels in the ME I/O screens. My questions is this: How do you specify what ME Channel is used? For instance, if my keys are Avantis ch1&2 and linked to ME channel 1 (stereo), how can i specify my Vocal mic (Avantis channel 5) to be routed to ME Channel 2, since 2 is not not open in the Avantis I/O menu b/c it is being used in the “linking” of ch1&2? Does that make sense?

When you assign both 1&2 (your keys) on the ME I/O, they should show up on ME-500 channel 1 (stereo). You can assign your vocal mic to 3 on the I/O and it will show up on channel 2 of the ME-500.
