Hello, everyone. This is primarily for those with SQ consoles and DX168 boxes. Is there an SQ to DX maximum cable length where you’ve noticed connection issues? I’m currently carrying a 200ft shielded Ethercon and it’s occasionally a bit short. I also have a 100ft, so do you feel that a 200ft and 100ft coupled together with a quality Neutrik coupler is safe? Or should I maybe just order a 250ft or 300ft ?

Thank you in advance for your advice.

As I recall A&H max lenght for DX should be around 305ft’ish,
know a lot use 330ft runs without any problems, when using good cable.

Personally I am too used to Dante (and work in IT as my dayjob) so I kinda stop when reaching the 305ft ethernet “limit” set in the standards 😉

I as well can only speak to Dante over Ethernet. 100m seems to be the classic answer from both Dante and DX so 200+100 with a coupler should be fine.

Now, about Dante and distance. 🙂 Dante over fiber? Kilometers!

Oh and Soren. IT as a day job probably meant that you didn’t need nearly the time it took me to start to understand the networking side of Dante. I did, finally, figure out enough to make my Dante rig work as I wanted but there was, shall I say, a steep learning curve. And not working with networking every day, I would guess that if something went wrong after all this time, it would take a lot of head scratching to remember what I once learned.
