We have 4 stage monitors, placed in a line horizontally across the stage. They are assigned from Aux mixes 1 though 4. I would like to send FX returns in stereo to the stage. Monitor-1 & Monitor-3 being FX left. Monitor-2 & Monitor-4 being FX right. That way the stage has nice open sounding effects in stereo. Also need to play any preprogrammed music to the stage in stereo for things like previewing music during rehearsals. If I assign a stereo channel to the mono aux busses it sums the left and right channels to mono, which sounds muddy. Mono closes in on me.

I would like to send all FX returns, and also ST1, ST2, ST3, to the monitors in stereo. Aux 1&3 Left, Aux 2&4 Right.

    Any ideas?

I worked out a solution. I switched Aux mixes 1-4 from mono to stereo. Only assigned one side of each Aux to an XLR output. Assigned Aux1-left chan, Aux2-right chan, Aux3-left chan, Aux4-right chan, to XLRs that go to the 4 mono stage monitors. Then, when assigning stereo inputs to these stereo Auxs, set the balance left for Aux1, right for Aux2, left for Aux3, right for Aux4.

So now we have our standard 4 independent mono monitor mixes for normal band operation, but with stereo effects, and stereo pre-programed music listening. Oh that wide open feeling.
