    Hello all

    Situation is as follows. I work for a band and I usually DJ in their breaks. I therefore mute all instrument and mic channels, so there’s no sound coming from the band preparing for the next set.
    We use SQ4You so they mix their own monitor mix.

    However, when I mute all the channels as discribed, they won’t be able to mess around with their monitor system, as the muting also mutes their instrument(s) and mic(s) in their mixes.

    I am quire sure I am overlooking something, but is there a workaround for this?

    Hi Gardacus,

    You can use the Assign key (left on the console) or via Routing Tab on the screen, to unassign the Inputs from main LR.

    Hello DD
    Thank you for your prompt answer!

    I will take a look at this this weekend at the next gig.

    Thanks again!

    Mike (by the way ;))

    You can send the whole band to a mix group.

    Than you send the mix group to the main.

    If you mute the mix group the band is muted to the main but not the monitors.

    @Gardacus

    As you’ll probably be using pre-sends for the monitors, you could also assign all band channels to a DCA and pull this down – muting a DCA will work like a mute group, muting all sends (including monitors) but pulling down the DCA fader will just take everything out of the main mix.
    The only downside to this method is that FX sends are commonly post fade, meaning they’ll also disappear, so it depends how important they are to the performer.

    Cheers,
    Keith.
