I have a super technical question about the ME-1 multi-channel protocol. Would it be possible/is there any software that exists that would allow the output from a digital snake to run into a laptop instead of a ME system so that one could send multitrack audio straight from the snake into a DAW? The youth space in my church uses a GLD-80 which doesn’t come with an interface I/O card, and some teenagers wanting to track multitrack audio for some Instagram videos is not a valid reason for the church to buy a $500 sound card for an old board. So I was wondering if it might be possible I could run one of the ME-1 cat cables into a laptop instead and have some magic software turn the signal into a 40-input digital interface driver. Otherwise, any help with any ideas on multitrack recording with the GLD-80 would be super appreciated! Thanks!!
