So running my inputs to peak between 0 and +3, DCA’s set at 0, mains are put at -20 and yet the Surface still shows my mains clipping? Not doing any weird EQ or expansion on my inputs, minor main GEQ (tuned to room), but why would I be clipping if I’m running the main fader at -20? I don’t hear any audible distortion.

You’re probably clipping the summing bus; where all the signals combine. This iLive shows clipping anywhere in the signal path if it’s there. Running your Mains at -20db means your input signals are probably too hot-like driving a car with both the gas and brake on full, and wondering why you’re not going very fast. Try putting your mains back to 0.0 db and reducing the Input gains. How much compression are you using?
