My current set up:
More than 2 inputs (drums,live band, etc) Mackie onyx 1640i into my PC via fire wire using Reaper.
Overdubbing: UAD Volt 2 into my Mac mini using logic.
Logic is my preferred DAW, so when I track drums I need to track them to the PC, then transfer them over to my Mac mini in logic. Not the end of the world, but annoying.
Been on the lookout for a reasonably priced 16×16 converter since apple abolished firewire support and a used ice16D came up, and looks suitable. I could use the direct outs on my Mackie to go straight into Logic. Any reason that wouldn’t work with the USB connection on the ICE16 and the M1 Mac mini?
