I have a QU32 with (2) AB 168 stage boxes and assignment was pretty straight forward on how to assign each box within the console. On the other hand, I am having some issues with once I connected the SLink to Avantis. While it recognizes both stage boxes, I just can’t seem to get the second box in the chain to work with the inputs/outputs.
So the first one comes up as I/0 1-16, but the second box comes up as I/0 25-40. First of all, does this sound correct? If yes, What am I doing wrong here because I can’t figure out why I can’t get these to work when assigned. If this does not sound right, please steer me in to the correct direction to get this to work. This is getting super frustrating.

to the channels you want it to come in on?2020/04/15 at 10:00 am #91030SteffenRParticipantcan you set the second AB on the first position to update the firmware and then try it again?
2020/04/15 at 9:15 pm #91040WhatfloorParticipantSo I have two blue ready lights on both units now. I’ve swapped SLink around and the second now the first works properly with assigned phantom power indicators shown. Switched it back with same results as originally issue.
As shown in the this last pic, is the block of inputs 17-24 correct with the setup of (2) AB168?

2020/04/16 at 10:06 am #91052SteffenRParticipantdo both AB work in the first position as expected without the second connected?
2020/04/16 at 10:12 am #91053WhatfloorParticipantYes. And when both are connected, regular mics seem to work as well. It’s just phantom power that seems to be the real issue that I can tell.

it still behaves like a firmware mismatch, this should get fixed with connecting them alone…
2020/04/16 at 10:24 am #91055WhatfloorParticipantplease explain “connecting them alone.” Do I connect one and then send firmware update from console and then connect the other by itself and then resend firmware again? Is that what you mean?
2020/04/16 at 10:56 am #91056SteffenRParticipantyes
the console does the update by itself2020/04/16 at 12:57 pm #91060WhatfloorParticipantThanks for the help but I don’t mean to sound stupid, but how do I need to proceed? Do I need to plug the SLink from the console into the each box by themselves for a period of time for the firmware to update? I just not grasping why the boxes work with the QU but not the Avantis.

that’s what I suggest
it takes 10sec to update the firmware
but it doesn’t work @ the expander port, I think…2020/04/16 at 5:04 pm #91064SteffenRParticipant -
