We have just gotten a SQ6 and DX168 to use with our Front Ensemble. I have our Mac running through an Audio Interface. (Focusrite Scarlett) Currently using Cubase but will switch to MainStage soon. I have it plugged into the DX168 and ran that Cat5e to the Mixer. I have sound coming from that connection. But no control on Channel 1 slider or Master slider. I can only mute from Channel 1 slider. This is issue #1.
#2 – I need to have 7 Keyboard mics running into the same DX168. They are all plugged in, but I’m getting no signal from them at the Mixer.
Admittedly I am very new to all of this, and am hoping I’m missing simple steps to make it all happen – Can anyone point to help or walk me through what I need to do next to get sound and control? If I can at least get all mics and the Audio Interface to be controlled from the mixer, that would be huge!
Thanks to all for your time. Sincerel

So you might want to do a reset first, as described in the manual on page 106.
Next you need to assign (patch) your DX168 to the desired inputs – manual pages 18-20.
A question would be: What are “7 keyboard mics”?2024/07/31 at 7:21 pm #124294KirbyParticipantThanks for the reply!
It is new out of the box. I did update the firmware as directed. I’ll refer to the items you mentioned.
7 Keyboard Mics I should have mentioned – 4 Marimba and 3 Vibraphone. I’m trying to run those and the Focusrite through the DX168.2024/07/31 at 7:25 pm #124295Søren SteinmetzParticipantSounds to me like you have something wrong in your I/O patch.
First I would check is all Input patching, then make sure no channels or groups have anything patched in the “ext mic in”

Thank you
2024/07/31 at 8:39 pm #124299SQuserParticipantAs already mentioned, you can find this in the manual on pages 18-20.
Did you still do the recommended reset?
If you are “SUPER new”, it will be essential to work through the manual and watch tutorials on YouTube, especially the introductory videos from Allen & Heath. The 7 mics could well be condenser mics, for which you have to activate the 48V phantom power on each channel, without which they won’t work.

… and hopefully the inputs too.> I have it plugged into the DX168 and ran that Cat5e to the Mixer. I have sound coming from that connection.

That seems contradictory to me, because I assume that a new console is delivered with standard settings that do not yet include the patch of an external stage box.
So I fear that someone has changed something on this console before you.
That’s why I once again expressly recommend resetting the console before you do anything else.
Otherwise, 99 settings unknown to you may have been made that will ruin your plans.

Short story, I didn’t have my outputs lined up with where they were locally. Figured that out, along with the Phantom Power, and it fixed both my issues.
