The GLD will run on a some years as a really good digital mixer.
And I have lots of AR boxes.
And at the right price I would buy one of these even NOW!

    However…
This has stopped me from looking at the purchase of this unit.

Feature request – 48Khz/24bit USB recording

    only 16 bit

Also I would want an iP8 to be able to be connected to it as well.
And I doubt this will probably not going to happen?

If the request was large enough would A & H be able to make a retrofit hardware available as if the GLD is already running at 24 bit 48K …..

Not sure what you are asking for here, the GLD recording is at 48Khz 24bit. I record multi track using a Dante card on a regular basis, and 2 track to USB.
If you are saying you want only 16 bit just down convert on mixdown.
As for the ip8 is designed for drive and it talks a different language, but if remote control is what you want the iPad app works great, and you can create custom layouts, also One Mix for giving musicians control over their mix while not giving them access to everything.
If a unique mix is what you are looking for the ME1 is great, all our musicians use them for IEMs.
