First Freeze on 1.4 just now! I was recording during a Soundcheck and the desk freezed – without controlling it at this moment.
It didn’t come back! Sreen went black after pushing some knobs. I had to reboot it.
I will send my Logfile now to A&H.2014/03/23 at 12:17 am #38480AnaParticipantAfter contacting Tech Support it looks like my console needs a new hard drive.
My screen never went completely blank and i haven’t had to reset the console for it to recover.
If anyone has any sort of freeze contact Tech support asap, dont wait for it to happen again like i did.
In the end letting tech support know asap will help A&H help us with these sorts of issues.Ben Anderson
2014/03/27 at 7:26 pm #38592Dave PerryParticipantMy screen went black as well before restarting itself and stating it hadn’t been shutdown correctly.I wasn’t recording during at the time.
Here is a copy of the ticket I raised with Allen & Heath support. I’m copying it here to see if it raises any recognition with other users crash issues.
I booted the system. A USB stick of 8GB is connected to the GLD I mention this as it maybe a USB stick that caused the error although I don’t know why.

This also accounts for the QOS error as I was hot plugging the Audio Racks. This was the first time the Audio Racks had been connected since the firmware update to 1.40.

I understand that the GLD will update the AR’s firmware automatically. I wonder whether the AR’s being hot plugged and switched around whilst the GLD may have been trying to update them could have cause the said issue. However no audio was passing throughout the system at the time of the crash.
Any advice you could give would be appreciated.
2014/04/13 at 10:27 am #39003stexxParticipantTwo more Freezes since my last Post… I will return my desk to the Dealer and they will replace some other cmponents like SATA Card Cabels and PSU…
It is really annoying now. I used i Live Desks a lot – and i haven’t got that much Problems! In both Cases i had to reboot (switch it off and on again) to save the show. After reboot the log File was empty ! There was only the reboot dokumented in the file.
2014/05/04 at 11:55 pm #39558nrixmixerParticipantHello my GLD 80 Freeze too every time i put it on 1 min later with message error : Audio Lock sync
i don’t understund there’s nothing plugged on gld 80, i used only the back of the Gld.
firmware : 1.42014/05/09 at 6:02 am #39672AnonymousInactiveLast Sunday (4 May, 2014), i had the console freeze during a service (show). it did not come back to life, was frozen for well over 20 minutes!, and I had to power cycle it between services to get it come back to life. unfortunately, our turn around between services is very tight, so I did not have the luxury of booting it up in debug mode to see what happened.
One thing that *may* be a clue here, is that we record services to a USB thumb drive. the thumb drive was fairly, but not completely, full at the time the surface froze. fortunately, it froze in the middle of the message, so the main mic was life when it locked up.
Firmware = 1.40 – Rev 13807

OS = 2.182014/05/09 at 3:21 pm #39678John-SParticipantMinor freeze here too.
This was my first freeze while in performance. It has paused at home while experimenting and exploring with allot of the features being used. Features like Dante connected microphone receivers, a multi-track recorder via Dante Virtual Sound Card, wireless router, GLD remote, GLD editor and both my AR boxes connected. The above freezes were the same as below.
This freeze was only about 15 seconds long during a performance. I was the only one to know it happened fortunately.
Here is the background. Running version 1.4 software which was loaded two or three boot cycles previously (a few days previous). That days system components were very basic. One AR2412, D-Snake and the GLD80. At the surface I had only the single D-Snake cable, Mains AC power, MP3 player, headphones and a local handheld microphone. USB sockets were not in use that day, no Ethernet and nothing else was connected to the GLD80. It was outdoors at the end of extension cords but I am POSITIVE I was the only person on that 20 amp circuit. My amplifiers and the entire band were on three other circuits. The electric service was modern and in good working order.
System played background music about 2 hours without issue. At the freeze, the band was performing. I was either adding names to the scribble strips or routing reverb to one of the channels, I forget which. The touch panel froze as did the soft keys. Audio passed unaffected. Fader levels responded normally. After the freeze, all returned to normal. I was able to rename inputs and modify the effects at will, without issue. Gig finished without reoccurrence of freeze.
Hmmmmmmm, interesting, yes?

2014/05/09 at 4:51 pm #39680dcongdonParticipantSince updating to 1.4 firmware 3 weeks ago, our gld80 has lost connection (due to system error) with our ar2412 and ar84 stage boxes twice during shows. Thankfully, audio continued to pass through the system and we simply had to clear the error on the home screen to re-establish connection. In both cases, we didn’t know about the error until after the show was over and we examined the show log.
Interested to hear if others have experienced this issue since going to 1.4.
Aside from these occurrences, we are extremely happy with the latest update. The new features have been amazing. Thanks A&H.
2014/05/09 at 5:34 pm #39681GCumbeeParticipantI have a big week coming up with a major star concert followed by a week conference live streaming. I have an 80 with 1.4 and 112 will 1.3 I have not gotten around to upgrading. I am thinking of hanging off and using the 112 and not upgrading. Have never had it freeze. This one makes me nervous.
2014/05/09 at 11:15 pm #39687dcongdonParticipantGCumbee–I can understand your concern. Might be a good idea to have the 1.3 available. Still, I want to be clear that we never lost control of the show/mixer. Our engineer mixed the concert from beginning to end. I only noticed the issue between sets. The home screen said there was an error and that the mixer had lost connection with the stagebox (not sure when this happened). I pressed the error message and connection was re-established.
I had 2 crashes during pre-production with 1.3 (while configuring outputs and FX). Since going to 1.4, crashes have not occurred.
Those are my 2 cents. For what they’re worth.
2014/05/10 at 10:13 am #39690RBParticipantAfter a freeze 2 months ago, I have checked the setup of my console thorowly, going through every single detail that was assinged… Then I unnassigned whole bunch of stuff I don’t use, setup the console for the type of concerts I usually do, and since then I had more than 5 shows, and the console worked without a problem…
2014/05/10 at 12:45 pm #39691GCumbeeParticipantHas anyone gotten any response from tech support on this problem?
2014/05/10 at 2:14 pm #39692Chris93ParticipantWith 1.2 I had a full freeze, on 1.3 I had a minor “pause”.
1.4’s been solid.

2014/06/21 at 5:24 pm #40298AJParticipantHey Guys i had the same issue you all had it happens when any network cable in your network hub gets shot or (badly crimped)
Here in my case i am using the office network with over 60 computers,
i changed the network cable from one of the 60th comp the problem was solved,
i suggest use separate network for remote,
after that i purchased new Network hub for limited devices.
problem solved:)2014/06/24 at 5:22 pm #40365pilotspikeParticipantHad a freeze mid service yesterday that lasted long enough that we were prepping stage people for a pause in the service for a reboot. Thankfully it came back before we to the end of that service segment. After the service it completely black screened and become totally unresponsive, with HD errors coming up on the screen. I am wondering if A&H is using a cheap supplier for the Hard Drives?
